Lebanese University will introduce Skoolee Tools school management software in its Faculty of Pedagogy program in Beirut, Lebanon, starting Spring 2010 semester.

18 January 2010-Hariri High School II (HHS2) in Beirut, Lebanon has selected Skoolee Tools student information system (SIS) and school management software, as part of its strategy to improve communication between school, parents and students and to boost its technology base.

Hariri High School II is a private, co-educational English language school established in 1986 and supervised by the Directorate of Education of Rafic Hariri Foundation. The school’s 1200 students attend classes from Nursery to Grade 12.

Beirut Arab University Increases Space Optimization by 30%

30 October 2009 – Beirut Arab University (BAU) has successfully allocated 90% of its classroom space for the Fall 2009 semester, after implementing UniversiTools scheduling solutions.

In the past, BAU faced serious scheduling conflicts at the beginning of each semester, which led to under-utilization of campus facilities. At any one time, only up to 60% of classroom and teaching laboratories were used.

In August, BAU integrated UniversiTools Classroom Scheduler and Alternative Scheduler (Common Time Locator) developed by White Mountain Technologies. The university, established in Beirut since 1960, has 15,000 students enrolled in over 300 academic programs across campuses in Lebanon and is affiliated with Alexandria University in Egypt.

According to Dr. Walid Shatila, BAU I.T. Director and Professor, “Assigning courses to classrooms used to be a two-week process that dragged into the first week of a semester. For the fall semester, we scheduled courses in a matter of hours.”

“We effectively freed 30% of our classrooms and laboratories, which had been frozen due to space allocation conflict,” explains Dr. Shatila. “We’re able to offer more courses, and the return on investment is here and now.”

With UniversiTools, BAU centralized scheduling for the first time, with the option that Faculties can allocate classrooms for their courses.

If changes to classroom schedules must be made after allocation, BAU simply selects a classroom and clicks to view all available classrooms with no conflict for professors, students or location. Previously, once a classroom had been scheduled, the decision to change course location required a hectic return to the design board.

Beirut Arab University (BAU) in Lebanon has selected UniversiTools software to manage its full scheduling needs across university campuses in Lebanon and Egypt.

The newly launched American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has selected UniversiTools university software for its comprehensive student information system (SIS) and robust scheduling modules.

AURAK, offering an American style curriculum, is located in the northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and began operations June 1. The university was established by Royal Decree by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

Non-profit organization Bicharaf has concluded Business Ethics Roundtable discussions with leading businesses in Beirut, Lebanon. White Mountain Technologies developer, Salem Saab, has co-authored an article in the January - March 2009 IEEE Transactions on Services Computing journal, Volume 2, Number 1.

Entitled 'A Distributed System for Consuming Web Services and Caching Their Responses in MANETs', the article was published with Dr. Hassan Artail of the American University of Beirut (AUB) School of Engineering, Department of Computer & Communications Engineering.

Salem joined White Mountain Technologies in July 2007 and has been instrumental in the development of school and university software systems for the Middle East education sector.

Salem is currently developing extensive modules for BaseCamp Learning Management System, to include a 9-country Payroll module and a full Human Resources (HR) Management module.

Salem received his ME degree in Computer & Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2006 with a focus on mobile computing.

During his undergraduate, he emphasized telecommunications, earning a BE degree from Beirut Arab University in Lebanon in 2004.

Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon has signed with White Mountain Technologies for UniversiTools Alumni Connection module. The private Francophone university, also known as Université Saint-Espirit de Kaslik (USEK), enrolls over 7000 students in 10 faculties and three institutes.

“We were founded in 1961,” says Reverend Fr. Hady Mahfouz, USEK Rector, “so we have four decades of graduates, many of whom are dispersed across the globe. We’ll work to foster the bonds and create a more interactive relationship with these family members.”

International School Al-Koura in Beitroumine, Lebanon, has formalized an agreement with White Mountain Technologies for Skoolee Tools School Management and Student Information Software.

Skoolee Tools software is uniquely tailored for private, international and progressive public schools in the Middle East and North Africa. The system is available in Arabic, English and French to meet the administrative requirements of schools in the region.
