Holy Spirit University of Kaslik to Manage Alumni Relations with UniversiTools

Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon has signed with White Mountain Technologies for UniversiTools Alumni Connection module. The private Francophone university, also known as Université Saint-Espirit de Kaslik (USEK), enrolls over 7000 students in 10 faculties and three institutes.

“We were founded in 1961,” says Reverend Fr. Hady Mahfouz, USEK Rector, “so we have four decades of graduates, many of whom are dispersed across the globe. We’ll work to foster the bonds and create a more interactive relationship with these family members.”

Dr. Badih Baz, USEK Registrar, will spearhead the Alumni Relations initiative. “UniversiTools will help us organize our approach and manage alumni relations. We’ll keep alumni informed about happenings at the university. Likewise, alumni will be able register online at USEK’s alumni web site to stay in touch with fellow classmates and to support the university.”

When graduates log in to their alumni site, they will be able to find and communicate with one another, get updates on university and alumni activities, announcements, events, fundraisers, and more.

UniversiTools Alumni Connection, according to Ghassan Abboud, White Mountain General Manager, is one of several modules “which we’ve developed to ensure that the university community stays connected over years. It creates an ongoing, long-term approach to community building, where alumni continue to receive support from the university and, likewise, give back to USEK.”

In addition managing alumni relations, UniversiTools software has scheduling modules – Classroom Scheduler, Exam Scheduler, and Common Time Locator – as well as modules to manage the university career center, grants and scholarships, and resource facilities.

College Notre Dame de Louaize Implements Skoolee Tools

College Notre Dame de Louaize is in the process of incorporating Skoolee Tools as its vanguard school management and student information software.
Aligned with and located next to Notre Dame University in Zouk Mosbeh, Lebanon, the school has a student enrollment of around 4000 students.

College Notre Dame de Louaize will use Skoolee Tools base solution with add-on modules to help school personnel manage all academic, administrative, and extracurricular activities. With Skoolee Scheduling module, administrators will be able to create conflict-free timetables for course schedules.

Reverend Father Naji Khalil expects the school to benefit substantially from the community building nature of the solution: “Skoolee Tools integrates the diverse aspects of the school’s functions and needs, and consolidates it into a community. It has everything we need, in a much better way than the disparate applications we’ve been using so far.”

Skoolee Tools allows all members of the school community to interact: from principals to teachers and back, teachers to students and parents, and parents with the school.

Skoolee Tools is specifically designed for private, international and progressive public schools in the Middle East and North Africa. The software is uniquely tailored to the Arabic, English, and/or French administrative requirements of schools in the region.

Father Khalil concludes, “I believe that, with Skoolee, you’re doing a great service to Lebanon by leveraging its educational and civil strengths.”

International School Al-Koura in Beitroumine, Lebanon, has formalized an agreement with White Mountain Technologies for Skoolee Tools School Management and Student Information Software.

Skoolee Tools software is uniquely tailored for private, international and progressive public schools in the Middle East and North Africa. The system is available in Arabic, English and French to meet the administrative requirements of schools in the region.

Skoolee Tools will serve as the front line administration and communication system for International School Al-Koura, an English school which offers both the Lebanese Baccalaureate and the High School Diploma degrees. The school is a member of AMS Lebanon and a sister school to the Al-Mawakeb Schools in Dubai (Al-Garhoud and Al-Barsha)

"Because Skoolee Tools will allow us to become efficient, we will be able to focus on the more critical aspects of education," explains Aref Akar, Chairman of the Board. "We constantly seek to attain higher levels of excellence, and by adopting this new system, we will be facilitating procedures for teachers, parents and students alike."

International School Al-Koura will use two types of Skoolee Tools modules: "Essentials" include basic modules for agendas, assignments, communications, conduct, grading, performance and more, while "Add-Ons" offers advanced analytics and reporting, registration and fees, facility use, and services, such as transportation, medical and more.

With Skoolee Scheduling, the school will also be able to create 100% conflict-free course schedules.

Rima Nasr Ayash, Principal, agrees that, "with Skoolee Tools, we will be able to adapt schedules to student needs and curriculum requirements. By taking advantage of what White Mountain has to offer, we will spend less time on paper work and more time among our students."

White Mountain will implement Skoolee Tools at International School Al-Koura during the month of November.

New UniversiTools Modules for Universities in the MENA Region

News home: http://news.whitemountaintechnologies.com

White Mountain Technologies has expanded its line of UniversiTools scheduling and management software, as university administrators gear up for the 2008-2009 academic year.

In addition to UniversiTools Exam Scheduler, White Mountain has released Alumni Connection, Class Scheduler and Common Time Locator modules for the higher education sector in the Middle East and North Africa.

Alumni Connection, designed for university alumni offices or associations, facilitates interaction, support and fundraising with graduates.

With Class Scheduler, university registrars automatically generate schedules that allocate classes to rooms, taking into consideration an array of variables and scheduling preferences.

Common Time Locator, which allows for alternative scheduling of extra sessions or time changes, finds optimum common free periods among all students.

The first scheduling tool released within the line, Exam Scheduler, obtains 100% conflict-free exam timetables and reduced back-to-back exams for students on the same day. With this tool, university registrars take into account room capacity, professor preferences, and other constraints to optimize all variables related to the exam period.

UniversiTools Exam Scheduler Software Hits the Market

White Mountain Technologies announces the launch of UniversiTools Exam Scheduler, the first product in its line of scheduling software tools for universities. As of August 2008, Exam Scheduler will be available for installation.

University registrars can obtain 100% conflict-free exam timetables with Universi-Tools Exam Scheduler. The software manages room capacity, professor preferences, and other constraints to optimize all variables related to the exam period. It also reduces back-to-back exams for students on the same day.

In March 2008, White Mountain announced its software license agreement with the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) Office of Grants and Contracts to develop, market, and sell the university’s conflict-free exam scheduling software.

Professor Moueen Salameh, AUB Registrar and member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (AACRAO), created and perfected the scheduling algorithm over the past decade.

“We’ve automated the process at AUB,” explains Salameh, “so that it literally takes us minutes to finalize 100% conflict-free exam schedules as soon as Add/Drop period closes at the beginning of a semester.”

“We define the time period for exams, then the software groups courses into conflict free exam sessions.” The input data includes the list of courses to be scheduled and the student registration records.

Salameh makes clear that “no student gets scheduled for more than one exam at the same time. We also minimize the number of students having to take more than two consecutive exams per one day, what we call back-to-back conflicts constraint.”

Scheduling is generally a pain point for university registrars, as they attempt to accommodate thousands of students during pre-defined, limited exam periods.
